Hearing Civil and Family Cases in Florida
Judge Jessica Recksiedler serves Florida's 18th Judicial Circuit and has heard a wide range of cases in the civil family and criminal divisions. The Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers selected her as Co-Jurist of the Year. Judge Jessica Recksiedler also served as the former Deputy chief and then Chief Judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit during COVID and served as Administrative Judge presiding over the Seminole County Adult Drug court for 11 years.
Judge Jessica Recksiedler was appointed by the Florida Supreme Court to serve on the State Court's Judicial Needs Assessment Committee and also as a Supreme Court Mentor Judge. She has served on the Florida Conference of Circuit Judges Executive Committee as Civil Justice Committee Co-chair for several years and will continue to serve on the Executive committee for the Conference.
Judge Recksiedler has an extensive background in private practice and has handled complex matters as an attorney of commercial probate, construction and insurance litigation and now as a judge. She also represented clients in criminal defense cases, a knowledge that served her in presiding over felony criminal division cases within the 18th judicial circuit.
Committed to sharing legal expertise with those limited financial means, she has presented at the Brevard County Legal Aid Pro Bono Awards. Judge Recksiedler holds her juris doctorate from Stetson University College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida State University. She has been board certified in civil trial since 2007.
